Chapter 4 - The Flash Back ( Continued ... )

Raul got out the department building complex numbered 4A. It is one of the  cluster of 8 high tech buildings, large with smoked glass and steel. The architecture reminded him of tetris colored deep slate-blue under the albino skies.

He stepped out into the walkway leading to the Building Block-1. The day was gorgeously perfect. At a short distance he saw the skyscrapers shining silver, in the late morning sun against the unbroken backdrop of blue skies. Outside had the sweet fragrance of freshly cut grass and the birds chirped in the trees. He crossed a small park near the canteen, the leaves in the park have their first autumnal blush. The tarmac path is wet from the night's rain.
Raul felt elated breathing in the fresh cold air and feeling it on his face. He passed the small sign arrows pointing towards the designated building.

Right in front of the Global Head Quarters front stood two neatly trimmed Hawthorn trees. From the main gate, a gravel path wind past well manicured bushes and trees. All along  the path stone lanterns peek out between the trees on either side.
The Building stood out gracefully from behind a white canvas of Daur Larch tree line. This great expanse of green and white enhanced its monumental appeal. Cluster of eight huge pillars stood tall supporting the facade completely made out of black stones. The building towered above him as great monoliths of concrete and glass.

Raul stood near the intricately designed entrance. He crossed into a short walk way with ornamental plants on either sides. The walls were embossed with sculptures which were quite modern for his taste. He passed a couple of classy wooden furniture placed closer to the wall, which glimmered in the sunlight beaming through the huge windows to his top right.

He climbed up a short three steps and was near another fancifully carved wooden entrance with the company logo. The carving there was done in such a way that, the light could pass through the wooden layers to create extraordinray visual effect.

To the left of him was the building's security room. A couple of heavily armed Security officers complete with all protective gear was watching him from behind a small counter, protected by an iron grill and a bullet proof glass.

Raul placed his access card on the reader and a small green light lit up welcoming him to the Corporate Headquarters. The heavy glass doors slid sideways and he walked in. Raul knew for a fact that, his CEO is already aware of his presence in the building.
